Field Trips

Field Trips for the Life Skills student are an integral part of their curriculum.  Being a part of our community is crucial to these students.  Having experiences through field trips helps students work on several important skills.  They help students with social skills, daily living skills, sense of  community, and leisure skills.   Field trips are planned for educational purposes as well as an incentive for good work.

In the past, field trips for our Life Skills  Program were fairly frequent.  Since the recent changes in economy, field trips will be less frequent.  Field trips this year will be earned on a point system.  All students will need to earn enough points to have the privelege to attend field trips.   Points are given for good attendence, quality work, and good behavior.  Students who are enrolled in the work study or STEP program will be required to fund expenses on these trips as well as earn enough points to attend.  It is my intent to make all trips educational as well as affordable.  Donations for field trips are always welcome.
